logo knm groupIt was reported that KNM Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary KNM Process Systems Sdn Bhd via SHK Consortium has been awarded a RM268.38 million contract by Cypark Sdn Bhd to undertake engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works at Ladang Tanah Merah, Negri Sembilan.

The project is with respect to the solid waste modular advanced recovery and treatment systems waste management solutions.

The total EPCC contract price comprises the offshore portion for the EPCC works in the sum of RM135.38 million and onshore portion of RM133 million.

The project in Ladang Tanah Merah, Negeri Sembilan is called SMART WTE Plant.

Cypark Resources Berhad is diversifying into the less cyclical business of renewable energy (RE) generation and waste management concession business to strengthen its income generating capability and ability to reward shareholders. The company is now investing RM300 million to build a waste-to-energy plant in Ladang Tanah Merah, Negeri Sembilan, that would commenced construction in early 2014. This facility will be able to produce 25MW of power from handling solid waste disposal and has the ability to increase capacity in the future.

The sustainable integrated waste management facility would encompass the following areas:-

Collection and Disposal
Waste Receiving Facility (WRF)
Waste Segregation Facility (WSF) with material recovery/recycling facility
Fully Anaerobic Bioreactor System (FABIOS) Plant
Power Generation Facility which includes Biogas Power Plant and Waste-to-Energy Plant
Sanitary Landfill for commingled, inert solid waste and processed waste residuals
Environmental Treatment Systems including Leachate Treatment Facility
Salvaging Yard for combustible solid waste and recyclable
Administration and Support Facilities
Operations & Maintenance of Waste
