It was reported that around 1.56pm a landslide occurred bringing the containers and workers’ quarters to be buried together at the construction site of the paired road at Jalan Bukit Kukus in Paya Terubong, Penang.
The landslide happened just two days shy of the first anniversary of the Tanjung Bungah landslide, i.e 21-Oct-2017, which killed 11 workers.
The heavy rain since Thursday night caused the landslide.
The tragedy has caused three foreign workers to die, three injured while 10 others feared to be buried alive.
